I'm Letitia, and I bring years of experience in wellness, holistic nutrition, and plant-based alternatives to the foundation of Mesquite Coffee Alternative. I'm the founder of Sacred Plant Integrations, where I guide individuals in reconnecting with themselves and nature through ceremonial-grade Cacao (another incredible and heart-opening superfood), detox retreats and holistic living. As part of my journey, I traveled to Bali to witness the bean-to-bar cacao process—an experience that deepened my respect for ethical sourcing and sustainable agriculture.

I'm also the force behind Pearl Powder South Africa, offering premium, responsibly sourced Pearl Powder—another superfood designed to promote radiant health. With my background in detox and gut health, I discovered mesquite while navigating my own caffeine reduction process and quickly recognized its powerful benefits.

As a seasoned graphic and web designer, I built our entire brand identity and website through our design studio LDJ, ensuring every visual detail reflects the warmth and care at the core of our brand.

Sales and Operations

Hi, I'm Douglas. I spent over 2 decades in demanding, high-growth businesses. From as early as my childhood days, my ambition, drive, and competitive nature have been my personal driving force. When sport could no longer be my outlet, I poured that energy into my work. A highly demanding work life can create gaps in health routines, and while it shouldn't, it often does. We have all the excuses and justifications in the world for the things we do to our health, and I was no different. At times, I was consuming as many as seven, and even more, cups of coffee a day just to keep pushing. Over time, the effects of that caffeine, and the associated unhealthy lifestyle - gut discomfort, crashes, and anxiety - began to wear me down. With Letitia's guidance, I began a health-centered detox that transformed my daily routine and my relationship with what I put into my body, and ultimately, how I felt.

My strengths in sales and sales management, operations, customer service, and product education make me a natural fit in building lasting connections with our customers, vendors and partners. I also enjoy experimenting in the kitchen with Letitia - after all, family time is as important as your health - creating delicious hot Mesquite Mochas using our drinking cacao and refreshing iced Mesquite drinks—especially popular on hot summer days.

At the heart of our brand lies a simple mission: to help people feel better using what nature already provides.

Mesquite is a nutrient-rich, caffeine-free alternative made from the pods of the mesquite tree - ethically harvested in the Karoo region of South Africa. It has a smooth, nutty-caramel flavour, is low-acidic and easy on digestion, and contains natural prebiotics, fiber, magnesium, calcium, and iron.

From the Farm, With Love

We live on a peaceful farm just outside Montagu, where we share space with two Scottish Terriers, two rescue cats, 11 chickens, a rooster, horses, and cows. This lifestyle is the foundation of our values: sustainability, mindfulness, wellness, and education. We believe in showing others that it's possible to live well, eat well, and run a business that reflects our deepest values - all from the heart and the earth.
