Shipping & Delivery

1. Order Processing

  • Rural Dispatch Schedule

We run our business from a farm about 15 km outside the nearest town, so we can’t hand parcels to the courier every day. Collections happen whenever we go into town—typically 3–4 times per week.

  • Same-Day / Next-Day / Up-to-Three-Day Dispatch

Orders placed before 12:00 PM (SAST) on a business day are usually dispatched the same day or the next business day. In occasional cases—especially around public holidays—dispatch may shift to the third business day, but never beyond three working days from the time your order is confirmed.

  • Stock Availability:

All items are subject to availability. If a product is out of stock, we will contact you within 24 hours to arrange an alternative or a refund.

2. Delivery Timeframes

  • Main Cities, Regional & Outlying Areas: 1–3 working days from the day we hand your parcel to the courier.

Couriers sometimes move quicker—so you may get a pleasant surprise with an earlier delivery!

  • Working days exclude weekends and South African public holidays. Delivery estimates can be affected by factors such as adverse weather or road closures, but we’ll always keep you updated if delays occur.

3. Delivery Partners

  • Primary Courier: PUDO (Pick-Up, Drop-Off) locker-to-door or locker-to-locker services.

  • Secondary Courier: The Courier Guy for areas not serviced by PUDO or for bulk orders.

Tracking details will be emailed once your parcel leaves our warehouse.

4. Shipping Costs

  • Dynamic Rates: All shipping costs are calculated at checkout and displayed before you pay. Rates are subject to change without notice if our courier partners adjust their tariffs.

  • Free Shipping Promotions: From time to time, we may offer free shipping based on order value or promotional codes. These terms will be clearly displayed on the checkout page.

5. Remote & High-Risk Areas

Deliveries to high-risk or very remote locations (e.g., farms, mines, border posts) may attract a surcharge or require collection from the nearest PUDO locker or Courier Guy depot. We will contact you if this applies.

6. Failed Delivery Attempts

If no one is available at the delivery address, the courier will:

  1. Try to contact you by phone or SMS, and

  2. Make a second attempt the next business day, or

  3. Redirect the parcel to the nearest PUDO locker for collection.

Uncollected parcels will be returned to us after 7 calendar days; re-shipping will be at the customer’s expense.

7. Damaged or Lost Parcels

All shipments are insured up to the declared value. If your parcel arrives damaged:

  1. Take clear photographs of the outer box and contents.

  2. Notify us within 24 hours of receipt: hello @ mesquitecoffeealternative.co.za.

We will arrange a replacement or refund in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

8. Address Accuracy

Customers are responsible for providing a complete and correct delivery address (including unit number, complex name, contact person, and phone number). We cannot be held liable for delays or losses resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses.
